Tranportation

The transportation industry is known for its high standards of safety, availability, reliability, and efficiency. The industry is broken down into three sectors:

• Air transportation (aircraft and spacecraft)
• Sea transportation (ships and marine vessels).
• Land transportation (ground vehicles).

Continuous monitoring of the conditions of these assets is a paramount priority to prevent catastrophic failures which can cause losses of the assets and human lives.

Continuous monitoring uses software and hardware to accomplish four things:

• Collection of operational data
• Analysis of the data.
• Reporting potential problems.
• Recommendation of preventive and corrective actions
